Asheville Wind Telephone

Asheville, North Carolina, United States

This wind phone was visited by the amazing Amy Dawson of My Wind Phone, a website that has a map of all of the known wind telephones across the world. Absolutely give it a look if you’re looking for a wind phone in your area or wanting to build your own so it’s added to the map!

Amy says that it is located behind a Jewish congregation building, likely Congregation Beth HaTephila on Liberty. There is parking in a lot on Broad. The building understandably has security provided by the Asheville police department. The phone does not have a sign explaining what it is, but it is a light yellow phone on the right side of an arbor. There is also a jar of ribbons that people can use to tie on the walls on either side of the bench as a sign that they were there.
